Ok One More Thing!

This is my other project, hehehehhehehhehehehe!

While I sent hubby on his way to Cuba for a week of golf with his sil, a surprise gift

for him for his 70th birthday, I decided to paint my kitchen. Well after a rotten start, dropping a third of a gallon of paint all over my dog and floor this is the result. I wanted something bright and had chosen a creamy buttery yellow, in some pics it seems darker. When I was done, found it too monotonous, so decided to add a litte PUNCH! Well I was bold and went with red, and figured if Hubby didn't like it when he got back, well too bad, cause there was no way I was painting again. The worse room in a house to paint and I have to choose it. Well he came home and was thoroughly surprised, but said he loved it. OH WHAT A RELIEF!!!!

I have a little confession to make.

I have been very busy with all sorts of things and one of them are these. I have been wanting to take a course in decorative painting for years and for whatever reasons have not been able to. But 2 months ago at my teeny craft store 3 min away, a sign was posted that lessons were being given on Tue. evenings for beginners. Well I went to see Monic, and told her I couldn't draw for beans, did she think I could do it. She said of course you can, it is all about techniques and you have patterns you trace, (ugghhhh I thought I can't even trace properly, hehheheheheh) Well decided to give it a try and these are the results. From bottom up, starts with the first one, and so on. You wanna know something, I had homework to do!!!! I haven't had homework in years!!! Well after erasing I don't know how many traced lines these are what I ended up with. Was a great course and lots of fun to learn. No no no, I am not giving up cardmaking, just another avenue I wanted to try! I actually made a birthday card for stepson this week along with Roses Challenge but forgot to take a pic...I did miss my cardmaking!

June Roses Challenge - Kezzie-Rose

And it isn't me wiping my brow from a hot flash! But that I made it befored deadheading time heheheheheheheehehehehhe!

Our Darling Kezzie-Rose launched her challenge as anything but a card! Well actually it came at a good time as I wanted to give a colleague of mine a little something as a token of my appreciation of her great work and great team player. So here it is, Thanks Kezzie-Rose for the inspiration! A little tile coaster and tag to go along.

The weather here is on and off, much too much rain. They say that Apr. May, and June have been the wettest ever. Fine, now let's move on to sunny summer days!!!!

Busy, busy, always something going on in this house, some event, someone's birthday, kids dropping in to say hello and then stay to eat! Family golf get togethers one weekend. Not enough time for me to be quiet and enjoy my hobbies.

Oh Well, I had better get on to checking out the other Roses and their blogs! Gotta see their BEEEYYYYOOUUUUTTTIIIIFFFUUULLLLL Creations, they are a great BouqueT.

Good Sunday Morning!

Where has this month gone too, Oh my Gosh!

Well it is the last one for the month of May and our dear Kymie-Rose challenged us to a cute project which was making a pocket tissue box for our desks. I finally got it finished in the wee hours of this morning, did not want to be late, you know Olga-Rose (deadheader) hehehehheehhehehee! I shake in my boots thinking what she may do to me if I miss or am late for another challenge. LOL, I love her though! Another fun project launched by a lovely Rose. This bouquet is really the best! Another month and another Roses' Challenge and for the month of April, it is our lovely Sue-Rose who hosted this one. She had decided that it was time for our creative little hands do something a little more challenging, a 3-D card. Well let me tell you, our Bouquet never ceases to amaze me! WOW WEE!!!!!!! Each and everyone of our Flowers have bloomed with a very special creation. You must take a look! No thorns in this bouquet. I have posted two cards as I really had to get 2 made up and since I could not decide which to put up, I went with the both of them! Mahone Bay

I was staying in Mahone Bay about 5 min from the main town, which is known for the 3 churches in a row. Another very pretty town, don't you just love the little red school house?

Truly, If I could I would move there in a heart beat, ifthere wasn't so much to give up here!

The people are so nice, the province is gorgeous, and I love the ocean!

Sleeping Lobsters!

Have you ever put a lobster to sleep? Well you can you know! What a hoot, I had asked my friend if the lobster squealed when put in the pot, and she said that is when she put them to sleep. Well a new experience in it self. So what you do is take the lobster, turn it upside down, set it on the counter with the claws crossed in front, curl the tail over and stroke its spine, after a couple of min. it falls alseep. They stay like that for approx 15 min, except for one sucker that gave us a hard time, by the time he fell asleep, the others awakened and started moving about knocking the others off the counter, hehehehehehehhe so scrambled to do the whole thing over again, and then finally they went into the pot!!! What a supper, you should have seen the meat in those devils. YUMMY!

The little blue boat is coming in with supper the pictures are in the wrong order hehehehehehe. Garney is a lobster fisherman who was out fishing for them when my friend called him to see if he had a fresh haul. Well with cell phones today anything can be done. He told us to meet him in 2 hours at the wharf he would be coming in with his catch! Oh my gosh, you cannot get it any fresher!!!

This is the old fishing town of Peggy's Cove, the rocky shore line spectacular as you look out from the lighthouse. The town is sparse, and am sure the weather conditions must have been terribly harsh in the old days of wood heating. But the view, WOW!

Hi Friends! Here is a little card I made up for a birthday, I wish I could make flowers like Mary Anne and Olga, but did not quite turn out, it is a new die I got the Peony, but now think not what I really wanted, oh well. It has been a busy week, 2 big birthdays, one friend just turned 40 and the other 50. For my friend who turned 50 I flew in to Nova Scotia to surprise her, her hubby asked if I would do it to really surprise her. Oh my such beautiful country. I had been there 10 years ago and fell in love with it then, and now just fell in love with it all over. Hope you are all well, have a great week, and will get some more cards going!!! Just a Tad! LOL!

I love making these flower pots. I guess it is my way to welcome spring! Since I cannot sink my hands into the earth warmed by a nice spring sun this will have to do now.

I really do love the sun, today it is about 40F or 8C and the sun is shining, so I got outside and washed the winter muck of my windows. Then cleaned up the poop from Pups in the yard (although we do have some patches of snow) . And since the Pups decided to roll in the snow and then go through the garden, what more do I have to say, they got their bath! This afternoon I am going to see Grandson's hockey game, he is in a tournament! 7 yrs old and now we have to encourage him, hehhehehehehehehe! Never know he just may make the Montreal Canadiens and hopefully win us the Stanley Cup one day!

ROSES' March Challenge

Our Lovely Mary Anne-Rose hosted our challenge this month and the theme was Spring! Anything that brought spring to mind. Well I was going through SCS and saw this technique and decided to give it a try. Well I am pleased in general with it, but seems to be missing something and can't put my finger on it. The butterfly is embossed with clear embossing powder which the camera did not capture. Well I hope she will give me and A for Effort, hehehehehehheehe! Another month has gone by, can you believe it. I can't. And the weather here has given no indication that spring is here, cause on the first day of Sprng we got 5 inches of that awful White Stuff, won't say the word......I know, I know, I said there would be no complaining. But it is a woman's prerogative to change her mind! Anyhoos, I shall be patient and in the meantime will have a look at my bouquet of Roses' wonderful work to see what they came up with.

OH NO!!!!

This is what I woke up to this morning, on Saturday we had 4 inches of rain, you could see the wood floor on most of my deck!!!! Spring coming-Huh a real joke, hehehheheehehe!

The only consolation I have is that I stayed home because the roads are treacherous and I am not taking any chances, it would take me at least 2 hours to get in today! Well my butt is worth more than that heheheheheheeh! Apparently the visibility is horrid, and roads are very icy as the temp. is -10c or 14f

We received 3 inches yesterday, 6 inches overnight and more to come, with High Winds! Ugggghhhhh! Well I have to get shovelling so for those of you with sunshine, send some over please!!!!!!!! Have a great day!

Hi Roses! I had to redo this card. I just didn't like the looks of it and really wanted to do justice to Patti-Rose's challenge! The worst of it is that I still am not completely happy, but I don't know why!!!!!!! There is something wrong, so this is a call for HELP! SOS!!!!! I would like you to have another peak and tell me what I could have done, should have done, added, taken away! I redid the butterfly and still did not quite get the color right! Changed my pearls positions, and added the little flowers............. Oh dear! Oh me, Oh my! heheehehehehhehehe now don't be afraid, I can take constructive comments, that is why I am here asking you for help!!!! I won't bite or bark!

Oh I am so Sorry my Lovely Roses! But I had unexpected company, and had to rush to get ready for them! I had my card made up, and now that I see it here, am not to pleased with it.
When I heated the clear embossing powder on my butterfly the brown went a rust color. And now that I see my pearls, I should have inversed them! Drats! Oh well that is what happens when you are rushing, although I thought I had plenty of time to get this done, and then a phone call saying that my bil and sil were coming in, completely threw me into a loop, hehehheeeheehe! Me and my quiet weekend. Oh well, it sure was fun having them! I shall be getting on your blogs to check out all the beautiful cards you have put together. Here is a card I finally made up this week! Had fun with the different elements especially trying to use a patterened paper, not my forté. I have to say, I have been feeling under the weather, can't figure out what it is, but no energy, constantly tired and cold shivers, Drats! No cold or flu so go figure! Toro has had a few workouts though, such a good Guy! heheheheheheeh. Wish winter would come to an end soon, but here it is never before mid April that we really start to get spring. Hi my dear friends!

Well I wasn't able to post last week because I had to work all week, plus twice till 8 pm. To top this we had a couple of storms so the driving was horrid, and when I got home had to shovel! Uggghhhhh when is winter over.......Oh well what can I say. I like my two other friends Mary Anne and Olga, I also got a new boyfriend (sorry I meant toy). Except mine isn't named Dyson, but Toro! Well Olga and I spoke on the phone and I could hardly control myself, or my bladder for that matter! I was in stictches and could not take it any more but she kept on telling me about her and Mary Anne's new boyfriend, Dyson, and Bill's girlfriend, Oxy-Jean! You had to be there, really that girl is a hoot !!!!! I guess I was jealous and had to get a boyfriend of my own, Toro! Such a good guy! Man can he shoot the snow, ehheheheheheheheheheh! It is an electric shovel, cause I was so tired of lifting the snow over the banks and the railing on our deck. All my muscles were hurting, and will working so much at work and some nights taking 2 hours to get home, I had enough! So on Saturday of course another snow storm and I took my faithful friend on a date! Had to see what he was like, and I must say, he is a good ole guy! Now my work is cut in half!

Sadly a colleague of mine lost her mom this week, so I made up a card. Such a sad time when one loses a Mom! As my colleague said, such is life, births and deaths, but when you lose your Mom it is so hard! Oh how I know.

On a happier note, the pups are great and I am having a great time with them. Nothing new otherwise, terribly cold and windy here: -15c

ROSES JANUARY CHALLENGE

Well here it is that time again, the end of the month when one our beautiful Roses expects to see the results of the challenge she put out to us and the beginning of January. That lovely Rose was Betty-Rose, that darling from Texas! This is one of the hardest I must say because she asked us to use a picture of ourselves. Well first, which one do you choose? Then what the heck is it going to say, heheheheheheeheehehhe! Well I came across this one of me and I kept looking at it, I guess I was around 3 - 4 years old. I seemed very lost in thought, and maybe even a little sad. Wondered what I could have been thinking, and then came to the idea that a little girl like this must be dreaming! I must have been dreaming or wishing or hoping! Today my love for flowers and butterflies let me add the embellishments that I did. Once during a very difficult time in my life, I thought, I could only be free of spirit, like a butterfly, flying from flower to flower, light on my wings, with nothing to worry about. So that is how I came up with this. Check out the other Roses' blogs their creations are fabulous!!! They are Betty, Kezzie, Kymie, Mary Anne, Olga and Sue! Ok, I have made a resolution for the New Year. I will post my cards here on my blog! Will try to keep it up to date and keep better in touch with you my Friends! I have had a hard time trying to do so, but promise to make a better effort this year! I have finally had the time to make up a few cards, here they are. Hope you are all doing well! The weather here is cold and I mean cold -20c. Brrrrrrrr! Tonight is supper out with a few girls, we all used to work together at my branch, so will be fun to catch up. The Roses know my big news for this year so far, I have adopted a lovely little dog, a great addition to our home, and his big brother Loco is great with him. Grisou (Greezzoo) means little grey one heheheheheh, has adapted very nicely, he is almost two and a great little dog! Have added a pic! Have a great weekend!

Well I cannot believe how time flies! Kezzie's challenge this month was for something for Halloween! I don't have many things for Halloween, so tried something with wht I had. Decided they would go to the grandkids filled with treats for them! Fun little boxes from SCS under Triangle Box. Thanks ever so much Kezzie, was fun doing your challenge.

You will not believe this but as I am writing it is snowing!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh not even November yet! It probably won't stay yet, but if it goes on like this, it is going to be one heck of a long winter! UGGGHHH!

Roses Challenge, Sept by Kymie - Decoupage

Hello Friends, Here we are again another month gone by. Where has summer gone to!!!!! Ohhhhhh my! Another cold winter to prepare for! But it was a great summer, lots of bbq's, golfing and trips up to a lake where stepdaughter bought a cottage that they are finishing, as

-it never was completely done. A couple of Spa visits with my daughters-in-law, who are just so wonderful! Well now is prep time for winter, uggghghhh and ours are cold. Oh well more time for cardmaking and cocooning, there is good in everything. Some of our lovely Roses have been going through a more difficult time, and hopefully all will be well soon for them.

Kymie-Rose is preparing for a wedding, but has given us a brand new challenge. Decoupage-which kind of puzzled me and after consulting with Olga-Rose, and her lovely gift of a few months ago, I used this lovely die-cut pic. So here it is! Hope you like it Kymie-Rose!

Oh and Kezzie-Rose has launched her challenge for Oct. Can you guess! The month of ghosts and gobblins, heheheheehehehe! Anything with a Halloween theme, hehehehehehe! Should be fun!

Here we are another month gone by! Where does the time fly to???? Well Sue-Rose gave us a doozer of a challenge (at least for me) But I finally decided to go with the Polkadot theme on the paper she sent us! Lots of fun! Next month is Kymie-Rose's turn. Wonder what she has cooking for us.

Not much news here, we have had a great summer, busy with family and friends on weekends, enjoying the outdoors. Sept. 2 is the start of my vacation, finally after watching everyone leave and come back from theirs. But I love Sept. The weather is perfect, not too hot, not too cold.

Skyping Marathon!

Hello All!

You will never believe this but Kezzie and I have just spent 8 hours straight on Skype. We have decided to enter ourselves into the Guiness World of Records. It was hilarious! I personally have now gone 19 hours without any sleep. Olga joined us around 8 am and stayed on for about 4 hours with us, hehehehehehehehehe! What a hoot! Hubby thinks I am absolutely nuts. During this whole evening we had lots of laughs and Kezzie was very intent on fixing up my sidebar as it fell to the bottom of my page. I think this too about 3 hours, hehehehehehehe. Sorry Sue, but Kezzie says you did not have the solution. Don't ask me what it was, I'll let her explain. Well all is in order and Kezzie and I are heading to bed now! The orange and green card is for StampTV's sketch challenge by Vicki, and the Wine colored one is for Tina's color challenge. But it is also a challenge that Olga gave me while chatting with her last night on Skype, hehehehehe, to use vellum. Hello Friends, well it has been a busy week. There must be something in the air, because my boys have been over 5 evenings this past week. Heheheheehehe, but it was fun to see them. Actually my eldest is looking for a house, annnnnnnddddd, he is thinking about one in my area. (needless to say, I would be delighted) but as Mom, musn't push, it has to come from him! Time will tell. Yesterday was spent with my girlfriend who is getting married in May, went out for wine flutes, which I will be engraving with their names and wedding date and decorating for the guest favors. Oooohhhhh so much fun to be involved in the preparations. Managed to get 2 cards made up, pheww. One was a spotlighting challenge and the other Pink and white over at Stamp TV. Hopefully will get a little more done on the weekend. Have a great one!

Why am I a happy stamper! Well to my astonishment, yesterday morning, I was going through Stamp TV, checking everything out, and as I went to my page I discovered a message for me!

Well I was hootin' and hollerin' when I read that I won one of the challenges. Poor hubby did not know what had brought the house down at first. Came in to the office to see what all the yelling was about ( i am a little bit expressive, heheheheehhe) So very exciting! That was the hilight of my week, let me tell you! Well here are a couple of cards I entered for 2 more challenges.

Well another week has gone by, and everyone is happy that it is Friday. We actually got maybe an inch of snow overnight. This has been an extremely strange winter for us, not too cold and hardly any snow. Just ask Olga, she got most of ours, heeehheeehehheee!

I have been working on the sponging technique, Theresa Momber who is an expert in it, and Olga who is way up there too have given me the urge to try this. Not easy! But I am practicing. Actually I made up a card with the daisy last night, and did some piecing, only to find that it was today's challenge on Stamp TV. Well have a wonderful weekend my Friends, and Happy Stamping!

Yes the world's eyes are on us for the next 2 weeks. Last night we were watching the openning ceremonies for the Olympics. I was very proud as a Canadian, it was a beautiful ceremony. Our cultural diversity was well represented. As usual, I ended up in tears with emotion, (such a wimp) but it never fails. My heart goes out to the family who lost a son, brother, and friend, the young Georgian olympic athlete who lost his life during practices. The competitions will be exciting so all who will be watching, Enjoy!

Well Good Morning My Friends!

Thank you for all your wonderful comments on my last posting.

All is well here, nothing really new. Had a wonderful visit and with my nephew who lives in Toronto, and he will be back today. A delightful 9 yr old who has been introduced to card making, heehehehehehee. Unfortunately his paternal Grandfather passed on this week. But as in all in life, sometimes the sadness brings gladness. In this case I get to spend time with him as his parents have been busy with all. I made up a card for the family, so here it is. Oh yes, I also made up one for Stamp TV's challenge. I cheated a bit, and used a bit of red though.

Well My Friends!

Another month has gone by, just cannot figure out where it goes! It has been a busy weekend, and also got some cards made up. A colleague and myself are heading up the Relay for Life -Cancer society fund raiser at work. Decided to sell some cards again. Tried it last year and it went very well. So, this year it will be done again, with more cards and a better variety, since I have learned so much from everyone! Want to wish you a great week and a great month of February. Hello Everyone!

First of all would like to wish all a very Happy New Year, filled with joy, love and peace.

I just realized how long it has been since I have been here, and thought I had better get up here before everyone thinks that I have given up Stamping! No way! It is just that since I left for vacation for the last 2 weeks in November, I have had trouble getting my act together with the holidays on their way. It seems that I have had company almost every weekend since, lots of fun of course, but lots of work too. Well I am back, and hope to be a little more dilligent with my postings. Last weekend my friend Kymie who is on the design team for Stamping Boutique, hosted a Digi-Day challenge for them with a free digi-image called Cynthia Journal Fairy. Well of all the wonderful things, I won an image! Yippee, my first win ever! Well I did make up a card and here it is for you all to see. Cannot see the glitter very well, but I love the image. Check them out, I am sure there is something for everyone.

Recently, I was telling you how my eldest just turned 30! Now that hit me more than my 50th!

Nick is on the left, -27 and Stephen on the right -30!!!! Where has the time gone! As you can see, I am a proud Mom, and they are great guys! I think I finally have gotten to the point that I can see them as adults and not my babies(well most of the time) heeheehee!

Hi again, how was your week! Well I had a not too bad one, I have to say the lack of sunshine is really getting to me though. It has been mostly cold, dark and bleak, thank goodness for my favorite hobby, stampin! This week Stamp TV has a color challenge, purple, black and gold. Well I had a birthday card to make up for a Stepgranddaughter who has turned 22! She was thrilled with the card, saying purle is her favorite color. I just had fun making it up!

Hi, well I am doing a bit better aren't I. Have to say I have been busy. We had one sunny day this weekend, so I took advantage to finish off working the flowerbed for winter, cleaning it up, split some perrenials and so forth. But the most exciting news is the punch I found, that I have dying to have for months! My friend Olga, craftieodamae, has used it quite a bit an when I first saw it , I knew I had to have it. So finally found it this weekend, it is the Lattice Lace from Martha Stewart. Yippee! Christmas was early for me! I know, I know, you are all thinking, is she nuts, it is an older punch, but you see, it is more difficult for me to find all the wonderful

supplies, not like in the US where you have everything! Anyways, I feel like I just opened THE

gift I have been waiting for, heeheehee! Here are the cards I made up with the punch. I have to add, that I went a little wild on my colors. I was experimenting a little! Have a wonderful week!

Well Hello everyone, I know I have not been very faithful to my blog lately, but with so much going around here, time was scarce! Hope all of you are well! Well I have to say this past week I felt my 51 years, more than my 50th. My eldest turned 30. Boy it sure got to me about a month ago when I realized we would be celebrating his birthday with a new decade, my gosh where has the time gone. It seems like a short while ago that I was 30 and the boys were running around on the soccer field, or riding their bikes all over the neighborhood. Now I have to look at them as mature young men(well most of the time, heeheehee). We had a great celebration for him and he was pleased as punch. I am blessed, because I have 2 wonderful young men for my sons and enjoy anytime I spend with them! Have caught a terrible cold, ending up on antibiotics so not very productive as far as the cardmaking department went. But today I did make up a couple of Christmas cards to show you! Well it seems like forever since I have been here, but because my husband was ill, I was away for a while. Now all is better and I am back, and very happy to be back into the swing of my favorite passtime! Well fall is certainly here and by the feel of it, winter is not too far away. The evenings have been below the freezing mark, ice and frost in the mornings. Bbbrrrrrrrrr!

Hi all! Well had a busy weekend, golfing with friends, hubby's birthday, the family in for supper and a day with the grandkids. Phew, it is good to slow down a little. Made a little spring card for hubby and he loved it and found it very original! He is such a good sport about my stamping obsession. This was a technique I wanted to use for a long time but waited for a special occasion and what could be more special, a little something for hubby! The kids were great, full of energy and adorable, a little high maintenance at times, who gets what first! LOL! Well check out the pics , I love to show them off!

I have been neglecting my blog of late, but have been a busy bee! Had my brother's surprise 50th which went over fabulously! He was truly surprised and all had a great time. On vacation now for 3 weeks, Yippee! The weather is gorgeous, beautiful sunshine and blue skies. Have made up a few cards. Well hello everyone! No, I am not lost. Had a busy week at work, having family over for suppers and a little golfing. Had a doggie day with Loco, we took a nice long walk, then came home and I groomed him, the whole works, cut, shampoo, bath and 4pedicure! He was so good, I am amazed how well behaved he is, while I torture him with the shaver, it takes 2 hours. But then we played and he was very happy to be outdoors with me. Then his new pal from nextdoor came to play with him! Right now he is snoring away on his cushion! As you can see, I luv the little bugger, I think it is the empty nest syndrome, have to have a kid around! LOL, well he does behave like a two year old! Through all of this, I did get a few cards made up. Look and see! Have a great week!

Hello everyone! I just had to share this little card with you. The image was sent to my by Kerri-Kezzam64, and I just fell in love with it! I made it up for the StampTV technique this week, which was inking up your cuttlebug folder!

I have some very exciting news! My brother who owns his own company has asked me to make up about 50 Christmas cards for him to send out to customers! Was totally blown away by the request. Such an honor that he would ask me! Yippee! Can hardly wait to see what I will come up with! I have promised him 3 samples to choose from!

Well I am back with my little pup again! We had a Potluck Friday challenge at Stamp Tv, which I just barely made in time and we had to use a picture as a focal point. So of course I decided to use my little Star! Well you'll never guess, it is mid-August and summer has decided to pay us a visit...now it is scorching hot. 30c and humid! Supposed to last for a week. It seems like forever since I have posted anything! But being very busy at work and having a wedding on the weekend and all the other little things of everyday life, no time for playing! I finally got 3 cards made up and mostly nature cards! I think that I am missing sitting out in the backyard and just being quiet with the birds and my trees and flowers and of course my little pup Loco! Things have been just too hectic!!! Time to stop and smell the roses!

Hi! It seems like forever since I have had the time to check in and chat! As I usually work 3 days a week including 1 evening which takes enough time away from my favorite things, this week it was a full week and 2 evenings too! So no time for fun. Will be the same for the next week but no matter, the weekend is here! A friend of mine asked me if I had any cards for baby showers, and unfortunately I did not! But lo and behold I quickly decided to remedy that! Yesterday I found the perfect stamp, and a small clear stamp set, and yes I have made up a little card. Apparently she is 90% sure it is a boy! But just in case, I did add a little pink! The backround is embossed with a die from Sizzix. Well on to some more creativity, like how fast I can get the housework done, so I can play more! LOL

I found this little fella the other day when I bought some paper and thought he was kinda cute so decided he would be great for this color challenge!
Oldest son and girlfriend were here for supper and we had a great time kidding around.
Golf yesterday with friends and supper together. Friday went to see the Lavender Fest, beautiful and the aroma in the air was wonderful. So it made for a busy weekend!

Wedding Card

Hi! Everyone! I am back. Hope you all had a great week! I certainly did! Yesterday I went to what is called the Lavender Fest, which is about an hour and a bit of a drive from home. They have fields and fields of lavender growing, when you get out of the car, the beautiful fragrance just wafts around you, tickling all your senses! They explained all about the cultivation, how they extracted the oils, and had a great boutique with all their products! Do you think I could resist? Oh no! Temptation just smacked me in the face! LOL!

I think I am having Summertime Blues

The SUN has finally come out this afternoon!

I think I was having the blues with all this cloudy and rainy weather. We have been seeing the sun only 2 or 3 days a week and I have been noticing that my mood has also been blue! Well it certainly showed up on my last two cards because both ended being done in blue. No matter, Mr SUN has decided to visit now so I'll go play in the garden after I post this!

This little moose was an image sent to me by snail-mail and decided to use him for StampTV's Thursday sketch challenge! Colored with prisma colors and Oms. I kinda think he is cute. It reminds me of hubby, only the TV remote is missing! LOL!

Eldest son is in Love! Twice this week he has let me know that it is his new love's B-Day on Sunday, which of course means, could you remember her, Mom! So I have been toying with an idea for a window card. I bought some peel-offs that when stuck on acetate, and colored with glaze pens, give the impression of stained glass! So that is what I tried with this butterfly. Stamped Gkd daisy on the inside and this is the result.

Hot Air Balloon!

I guess I was influenced for my card, by this wonderful sight last week just across the road from our home, in the corn field. A hot air balloon decided to end its flight here so I got these great pics!

We have a festival every year in August that last two weeks, where hundreds of hotair ballons take flight twice a day! The site is about 20km from here, but the air currents seem to bring them our way, so we have quite a wonderful view of them. It is so much fun watching them all with all their beautiful colors and designs. Unfortunately you couldn't get me up in one of them! Petrified of heights! But it is so much fun, cause sometimes they just pass over the house and we can actually say Hello to them! That's how low they can come in here! Poor Pup- Loco is so afraid of them, he scurries into the bathroom and hides!

Well it is another overcast and calling for rain day! Ugh! Summer has not been great so far! Only 1 BBQ supper that we could actually enjoy outside so far. Have been a little busy on the golf course last weekend (no, I'm not a pro) Just a sport I like to enjoy with hubby, Louis! I am working hard at it though, as I have only been playing for 6 yrs ( and for those who think 6 yrs is long, let me tell you, it isn't) Learning golf at my age isn't easy! Very hard on the ego. By the time you remember all the technical stuff, your legs not too far apart, stick your butt out, bend slightly at the knee, keep your arms straight, keep your head on the ball, check where your ball is place in relation to your feet, how your feet are placed, because it is the direction for the ball, watch your grip. Phew! I am tired just explaining! Then you get to hit the ball. Oops you miss. So what in the heck was I missing in all of the above! LOL! Get the picture?

Hello again, just wanted to post another card I managed to finish for StampTV's Potluck Friday challenge, which was stamping on DP and coloring the image so the print shows through. Interesting technique. Had some fun with it! The butterfly is GKD and flowers are SU.

Hi Everyone! Well another weekend has come and gone. Part of it was washed out by a huge storm, and now it is cool like a fall day! Summer is not very cooperative with us this year. I made this card for StampTV'S color challenge, which was to use the colors we saw in our gardens or in nature. These are my Blackeyed Susans, the stamp is GKD. Have been trying to work on my daubers for blending colors, a technique I would really like to master. Thanks for looking and have a great new week!

Good Morning Friends!
I know I haven't been around for a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been checking things out. Was out of town yesterday for a game of golf with BIL and wife and had a gorgeous summer day! Imagine 2 in a row. Played lousy but had a great time! Played the day before that and guess what, Yep hubby has managed to convince me to another one today. Tongue hanging, I'm going to chase that little white ball again. Yesterday was humiliating enough, but I just have to go back for more! Now the thing with this crazy game, is that although I only slept 4 hours last night, either I won't have the strenght to swing my clubs, or I so won't care that I'll make some great shots, just because I won't force anything. It's a make or break game, you never know! LOL! We'll be with fun people, and it might be the last of nice sunny days, as they are anouncing rain again!!! Hopefully tonight I will have sometime to post a little creation!

Well here is another card for a challenge on StampTv, using punches.
I had some scraps I thought I could use for this and found this butterfly backround paper but now that I look at it, it certainly is a busy card!

My pup Loco, is my faithful little friend. He is always around me and
many times you'll find him where I make my cards!

He is a mix of Lhasa Apso and Bichon Frise. Picked him up at a shelter when I fell in love with him at first sight.

A great companion!

Hibiscus and Butterflies

Decided to do another crayon resist card, but this time I chose a couple of colored crayons for my butterflies, wanted to see the effect! Was happy with the results and will probably try more with this technique. It helped control the color in the smaller spaces, especially to avoid having to much of the same colored ink when applying with the daubers!
